The mask mandate that was due to end on Friday, 16 July 2021 at 06:00am in Queensland has been extended by another week in the following LGAs; Brisbane City Council, Logan, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim. Restrictions will ease for Townsville, Magnetic Island and Palm Island as planned on Friday, 16 July 2021 at 06:00am.

AUSTRALIA: SA tightens border restrictions with VIC and QLD

From midnight on Thursday, 15 July 2021, travellers arriving in the state from Melbourne, Geelong and Bacchus Marsh will need to quarantine for two weeks. Anyone coming from other parts of the VIC will need to undergo testing on days one, five and 13, but will not have to isolate once they get their first test result. Plans to lift border restrictions with South East Queensland have been cancelled, but testing requirements will be lifted for people coming from Townsville and Birdsville.

AUSTRALIA: NT declares Greater Melbourne, Geelong and Bacchus Marsh as hotspots

The Chief Health Officer has declared a number of hotspots across Victoria from Saturday, 10 July 2021 for the purposes of travel to the Northern Territory. This date aligns with the period of time people were in the community while infectious. Anyone travelling to the Northern Territory who has been in a COVID-19 hotspot in Victoria since Saturday, 10 July 2021 and arrives in the Northern Territory after 5pm on Wednesday, 15 July 2021, will be required to undertake 14 days of mandatory supervised quarantine at the Alice Springs or Howard Springs quarantine facilities.

AUSTRALIA: COVID-19 test required for all Greater Melbourne arrivals into SA

From 12:01am on Wednesday, 15 July 2021, all travellers including essential travellers and permitted arrivals (returning SA residents and people genuinely relocating, and people escaping domestic violence) entering SA from Greater Melbourne are subject to Level 1 requirements. These include having a COVID-19 test within 24 hours after their arrival and no entry to high-risk settings until receiving a negative result. All travellers going to SA must first complete a Cross Border Travel Registration. Travellers must complete a separate Cross Border Travel Registration for each person in the travelling party, including all children.

AUSTRALIA: Victoria upgraded to 'low-risk' jurisdiction by Western Australia

Anyone arriving into WA from Victoria will need to self-quarantine for 14 days and be tested on arrival, following an immediate change in health advice. The WA government announced Victoria would transition from a "very low-risk" to a "low-risk" jurisdiction. Jurisdictions considered low-risk are permitted to enter Western Australia without an exemption but are subject to strict conditions including COVID-19 testing and self-quarantine. Travellers who have been in Victoria or have travelled through Victoria will need to quarantine for 14 days and present for a COVID-19 test on arrival and on day 11. In addition, anyone who was at any exposure site in Victoria and has since travelled to Western Australia is required to get tested immediately and self-quarantine for 14 days from the date of exposure. All recent arrivals from Victoria should monitor for symptoms and present for testing immediately if any develop.

The Acting Chief Health Officer of Victoria has declared that all of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory will become a red zone under Victoria’s travel permit system at 11:59pm Sunday, 11 July. This means the Victorian border is effectively closed to New South Wales and the ACT – except for Victorian residents returning on a red zone permit for 14 days of quarantine, and for people with exemptions, exceptions or other valid permits (such as specified workers and cross-border residents).

Finland : to open to vaccinated travellers next week

Travellers from EU and Schengen countries will be able to enter Finland without any additional health safety measures from July 12th. That is if they are fully vaccinated, have had a Covid-19 infection before, were born in 2006 or later or arrive from a country with low virus incidence. Those with one vaccination only are instructed to take a Covid-19 test earliest 72 hours after arrival to Finland, and those without any vaccinations are required in addition to have a negative test result before departure to Finland or a test on arrival.

SOUTH AFRICA: South African remains at adjusted alert level four

South Africa will remain at adjusted alert level four until 25 July 2021. All COVID-19 health and safety protocols must be followed, including observance of guidelines for social distancing, sanitation, hygiene and use of appropriate personal protective equipment, like cloth face masks. Additional measures to be implemented under adjusted alert level four: All social, political, religious or other gatherings are prohibited. Public spaces such as beaches and parks will remain open, however no gatherings will be permitted in these spaces. Curfew will be in place between 21h00 pm and 04h00 am. Non-essential establishments are to close by 20h00 pm. Schools will remain closed until 26 July 2021. The sale of alcohol for on-site and off-site consumption is prohibited. Restaurants are allowed to operate following strict health protocols and operating with a maximum capacity of 50 people or for smaller restaurants, 50% of their usual capacity. Gyms and fitness centers will be permitted to operate with strict hygiene protocols in place. Travel in/out of Gauteng Province for leisure purposes is prohibited. If anyone is not in their place of residence at this time, they will be permitted to return home. Travel for business or commercial purposes will be permitted in/out of Gauteng Province as well as travel for transit purposes. Should your travel to/from an airport fall outside of curfew hours, you will need to produce your ticket or travel itinerary to show your reason for travel.
