In a continuation of the gradual lifting of restrictions at Hong Kong International Airport, it is now permitted for passengers to transit using different airlines, although boarding passes and hold baggage must be printed and checked through to the final destination.

The country's foreign ministry announced today that on 30 June Sweden will lift its advice against non-essential travel to 10 European countries - Greece, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, France, Iceland, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg.

Dubai-based Emirates is planning to open ‘air bridges’ with European countries, according to local media reports. Air bridges, also referred to as ‘travel corridors’, would allow tourists to travel between two countries during the current COVID-19 pandemic, without needing to quarantine.

The British embassy in Spain confirmed today that British citizens will be allowed to travel to the country when it opens its borders on 21 June. The Spanish government announced yesterday that the re-opening of its borders to most European visitors had been accelerated 10 days earlier than the previously planned date of 1 July.

Botswana today lifted a recently reinstated COVID-19 lockdown on its capital city Gaborone and surrounding areas after most of the cases reported last week turned out to be negative, according to reports from the country’s health department.
